Default 96 Targa sunshade

Its mty3rd time rebuilding. Replaced the pull bows and slides. My problem now is the sunshield does not rewind itself. Their isn't enough tension. Some rennlisters have suggested that I can wind the metal tab on the shield and add tension. Problem is I cant figure out how to remove the shade. What is holding it in. I have it attached from the pullbow but I can figure out how to get the assembly out.

Read all the threads but I'm still stumped.

Your help is appreciated.

I'm assuming the shade bunches up when trying to open it.
Doing this from memory - you have to get access to the shade. I can't remember if you need to remove the deflector. It's very easy if you do, just 4 screws. You might need to remove the visors & header trim also. I'm not near my car & cannot remember.
The shade is just like a window roller shade. On the right (passenger) side, there is a round pin that that slides into the mount. On the left side, the pin is flat & is turned vertical to remove or install & is then turned horizontal to stay in place. You need to lift out the left side & pull out the right side to remove. I think there is a hole in the left side pin to put a wire into, to keep the tension. Or, you can just hold it with pliers. Then turn the shade while holding the pin to tighten up the tension. There is a TSB that describes the procedure. I think it is 23 turns to get the right tension.
PM me if you need the TSB.

Targa TSBs via https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...regularly.html

https://members.rennlist.com/geolab/...1997_66037.pdf and https://members.rennlist.com/geolab/...2000_66010.pdf seem most relevant to the work you need to do.
