Default Seat for 5 point mounting solution...

I posted the other day about not being happy with a Recaro SPG. My main reason for upgrading seats is so that I can run both shoulder harnesses and subbelt safely. What is another option for a comfortable seat that allows this? I am thinking of a non fixed back maybe. I want something that will not look gawdy in the interior, that fits the era of these cars. Thanks.

The Recaro Speed is a movable back and comes with a 5 point option. They are pretty nice units. I am getting a set for my car. i have a distributor that can cover them in leather (not available from Recaro) and cab use a deviating stich color for the Recaro logo, or just the seams...

Personally, if I HAD to have a movable seat back, I'd get the Recaro SRD.

Matt, the Speed replaced the SRDs. Larger shoulder and head area...

I'll second the Speed reccomendation. They should fit the bill if you are looking for a softer back.

Only thing is that if the SPGs fit you well (remember this from your other post) the Speeds will feel quite a bit too wide. Even the SRDs with closer shoulder bracing were a bit wider than the SPGs.

That is my concern. I fit well in the SPG's. I do not want to be swimming in some seat I get. I am only 5'5'' and 145 lbs.

Hmm. Did you try the lumbar supports? You may also want to try adding another layer of the padding. I love the fit of my SPGs also and found the SRDs to be too large.

I have not tried the lumbar pads yet. But another issue I have is doing gymnastics to get in and out. Right now I am trying to sell them for the right price. If I get the price I am looking for I will sell them, if not I am going to try the lumbar pad.

Whats the price? I could pass the word among my friends and see if any of them are looking.

Also which SPG version do you have? I know that one has much higher side bolsters (ie my drivers seat) while the other one isn't too bad (my passenger seat).
