In Andy's instructions above I think he meant to drill a small hole between the body and glass, not through the body. There is ample room to get through the sealant and gasket without going through the body. I suggest you start with the LED version from Tore's site, Bergvillefx.com. It also has instructions that should explain the installation process. Good luck and beautiful car!
Yes, passing the wire through the sealant is clearly less invasive and something I didn't consider when I repaired the wires in my car by drilling a hole in the steel and passing the wire between the headliner & the roof.

Default Update on my Speed Yellow C2

First mod to my new to me Speed Yellow C2: replaced the OEM halogen main headlights with H1 compatible ultra white LEDs (6000K, 4500 lumen). No warning lights or faults after replacement, just plug and play:

Spot the difference: left on the picture is standard halogen, right is the new LED

I'm planning to switch to LEDs with other lights on the car as well and match the colour of the lights at the front.

Hi Peter,
For the marker and fog lights, there are daylight-colored LED or even daylight-colored halogen bulbs with blue filter globes.
Both are auto parts store items. Also, check out Tore's site for some options:
