Porsche 1000?
Is Porsche ever going to move out of the 'Nines'? Or are they going to milk out every conceivable number? "Introducing the 2050 Porsche 999.998!!!"
I think they missed the boat on the Carrera GT. They could have named it the 'Porsche 1000". ( especially since EVERY Carrera is a Carrera GT by definition )
I kinda like the ring of that. "Porsche 1000".
Obviously they are moving away from numbers and towards names. I thought Cayenne was just silly. I just don't associate German precision engineering with South American spices or Mexican food, sorry. What's next, the new Porsche Oregano ? The Porsche Flauta ? The Frijole ?
What say you ?

The Porsche RoseMary (driving miss daisy?)
I met up with a German friend a few days ago who's a Porsche freak (guess where in Germany he lives..)
Anyway, according to him, German newspapers mention about a divorce between the Carrera and the 911 brand. So in the future there will be the Carrera model for supercar performance and the 911 for sportscars performance.
Reason for this should be that the 911 concept can't keep up with true supercars due to design (draft & engine mount?). Still they can't throw it out of production since it's their heritage. So it will be a regular performance sportscar, meanwhile the Carrera concept will compete with more extremes such as Murcielago and future premium Ferraris.
However, I have no idea if this is true. So don't get to upset now...

Somewhat OT, there was an article in the before last Auto-Motor-und-Sport about a four door, was that an April 1 joke.....??
Nobody mentioned it here and it seemed really bizar, but, hey the Cayenne happened....so, why not a butt ugly four door.......?
