Default 1995 911 C2

Hi all, I have recently acquired a 1995 Porsche 911 C2 and have noticed during the day the alarm randomly starts going off, this is a 1995 so it just has a standard key (no remote). Just wondering what troubleshooting steps can I do to see what is triggering the alarm? The battery is fairly new, car starts and runs fine too.

1st place to start is to make sure the wiring harness recall was done on this car - the coating on the harness was defective and broke down causing shorts here and there.

I have just checked the Porsche recall portal - https://recall.porsche.com/prod/pag/...ReadForm&c=usa and there doesn't seem to be any open recalls for my car, but I will call a dealer tomorrow, just to confirm.

One RL member here had electrical issues.

There was no recall on his car becuase it was "checked" at the dealership years prior and the harness was deemed in good condition. A few years later it wasn't.

The only time I have have this occur in many years of 993 ownership is when the battery level was low. Keep us posted and good luck. Electronic gremlins are a PITA.
