Electric Polisher/Buffer
I am in the need of a polisher/buffer for
making the P-Car shine. I remember reading past posts about using a Porter-Cable. If this is the best tool for the job, can someone reply with the tried and tested model number? Also helpful would be the type and name of a great polishing glaze.
TIA

Good site for supplies:
Top Of The Line Auto Detailing
But searching around, you should get the polisher for around $125

Thanks Chris!
I have looked at the "Top of the Line" site
and theirs sells for $155 Plus shipping. Now
that I have a model number, I can go to the local "Tool Peddler" and pick one up.

If you've never used a polisher/buffer on a car before, I would do a fair amount practice on another car before taking on the P-car.
A polisher/buffer on car paint is akin to using a belt sander on some wood. If used incorrectly, a belt sander is one of the quickest ways to ruin a piece of wood.

When I bought my Porter Cable 7424 the best price was (& probably still is) from toolmarts.com. As you can see, they are selling the polisher w/Meguiar's kit for $110. FWIW, delivery was prompt, although I was added to their email spam list & had to request removal.
After geting some useage tips & website referrals from the Board, the polisher works great & I get much less wax in my teeth
