Too bad they want to charge close to $3K for it. I don't know if its worth it for 20-50 hp. I had a custom IC fabricated for less than $2K

Will have to keep refilling a reservoir with water? I know performs well but the added maintenance is a downside. Also, what happens when the water supply runs out?

Or is it a system with a recirculating water supply like the Laminova?
see http://www.opconab.com/download/lami...ntercooler.pdf

Are there no air-to-air intercoolers with comparable performance?

John- This might be a long shot but do you know of anyone doing the TPC superchargers in southern Cali. I had a intercooled SC on my 98 mustang that was putting out over 500+ HP and loved it. I miss the "punch it in any gear torque". Thanks

Will someone who knows explain this to me: Isn't air to air better? I mean with water to air you'd have to have a recirculating pump wouldn't you? Seems like a pain.

And you wouldn't be truely air cooled any longer. You'd have to call your car a 994 or 995, I suppose.

Well the engine is oil cooled really, not air cooled. Besides the intercooler is not for engine cooling anyway. I think it would be safe to call it a 993

I believe air/water intercoolers are used to keep the size of the intercooler down i.e. they are more efficient for their size.

TPC didn't build the supercharger, Eaton did. TPC built the kit for the 993.

If you like the engineering effort that was put in to the kit (i.e: "Oh just shove the smog pump into a corner and zip-tie it"), then by all means buy the TPC intercooler.

See my thread on the Air-Air intercooler thats going on my car. And did I mention that it will have a CO2 sprayer on the IC. I know I'll have to refill the tank, but IMHO a sprayer on the IC is much more effective.
