Default intermittent sunroof

my sunroof was stuck open this weekend. just wouldn't close for some reason. no noise or grinding, or anything for that matter. now today, it works.

anyone had an intermittent electric roof? is this some sort of sign? better yet, is there some sort of 993 voodoo i can do?

it doesn't sound like the sunroof mechanism itself. If the roof is physically jammed and you activate the switch you should still hear a small noise as the motor activates. Perhaps a faulty sunroof switch? How many times did you try and activate the switch? How many times has it worked since then? Intermittent problems can be a real PITA.

I had the same problem. I pulled the relay and put it back in and it hasn't had a problem since.

Hi Mike

I agree with Graham.
I had the same problem.
I removed the sun roof switch and cleaned the contact points.
It now works like a charm

Good luck

Kevin

Beautiful. thanks so much for the replies.

i'll take the switch apart and make sure it's clean.

i'll post some pictures of the car along with a somewhat clever IPOD mount for anyone interested.

thanks again.
