Question Offset of 17" cup rims

I have a 993 C2. How to find the offsets of 17" cup rims. I found a number right next to valve stem. Is that the number of the offset? I think my front wheels' offsets should be 55, and I saw 55 right next to front wheels' valve stem. I also saw 55 right next to my rear wheel's valve stem. Are they ET55? <img src="graemlins/r.gif" border="0" alt="[king]" />

Question

I tried search for this information but was unsuccessful.

I have the 17" 993 Cup wheels as mentioned here on my '95 993. The car has been lowered with H&R springs. I have had the inner guards rolled to accom. some 18" wheels in the future. But for now and eventually for these wheels on track days, I would like to space them out further.

1) Is there a standard size spacer that I can safely go with?
2) What effect does that have on wheel studs/nuts?
3) Is it the same for front and back?

Thanks,
Dylan.
