Default Single position lower center console?

I've only ever seen the lower switch console with 3 switch positions/cutouts. Normally any unused positions have dummy/blank switches that are inoperable.

I spotted this on the "last Waltz" car which is a euro Turbo model and alleged to be the last street-legal 993 "delivered", not last street-legal 993 "produced" (which sent to Seinfeld). The car in question is for sale, obviously collectible and appears unmolested.

So is this a one-off from the factory? Or did these exist previously for cars that had a single switch there? Can't find a part number for a single button model and again, have only seen the 3 position version which sometimes had a "blank" in there. Not sure I've ever seen one with two "blanks".

It seems the center console (both lower and upper) are covered in blue leather (like many other dashboards element of the "Last Waltz") so maybe that's the reason why we don't see the 2 blanks?

You could be right and I did notice that many other pieces are blue leather covered (have seen this on other factory cars).

The reason I doubted that is that you can see the console surrounding the shifter is leather covered and it appears the part in question has some contrast in both color and finish compared to the blue leather right next to it.

Perhaps lighting trickery?

I think it was just one off that the customer asked for. If he didn't need those switches, he wanted them covered.
If you look through the list of options, a lot of parts are leather covered.

I think that might be from a 964. Seems like they had a round **** for the rear spoiler. This could be the plate that holds it in place.
