Alignment with Camber Plates
Ok, here is a question about front end alignments with adjustable camber plates. Do you set the camber plate on top first and then make minor adjustments control arm or do you set the bottom first and then make minor adjustments to the camber plate? Does it even make a difference if the alignment is even on both sides?

If (and sometimes that is a BIG if) remember right, we put the max camber in at the shock/upright and then fine tuned and increased it with the camber plate.

Thanks Greg,
That's the way my last alignment was done. I was a little bothered by the fact that the tops of the camber plates were not in the same exact location.

I guess there is some variation in our cars from side to side and that may mean you have to "dial" in more camber on one plate to get an equal measurement.
Side point you don't want to make alignment or ride height changes based on measurements taken from the body panels. There are set places on the cars underbody to make the measurements and these can be quite a bit different from measurements taken on certain body panels.
