As the resident PETA representative for HWFMR, I regret to inform you of the following:
The British Royal Navy has lost one of it's most illustrious mascots. The mascot was a Turtle named Timothy and shook off this mortal coil at the grand age of 160+years, having served loyally for it's entire life, most of which was aboard ship. Timothy's career spanned many wars and actions, including the Crimea War and both WW1 and WW2, etc. etc.
The only blemish on Timothy's otherwise excellent record, was an unfortunate incident about 50 years ago when his shipmates attempted to set him up with a girlfriend. It turned out Timothy was a Timette and the hopeful girlfriend did not survive the ensuing fracas.
It just goes to show, that Turtles are slow in everything they do, even getting to the Pearly Gates.
