Maybe you guys can give me some pointers, cause I'm not too impressed with my Zaino kit.
I used the swirl polish with that activator stuff in it. First of all, the instructions say to use it sparingly cause "a little goes a long way". I did not find this to be the case at all. I used an entire 2 oz. bottle. Now granted, I was putting it on my Range Rover, but still, it did not spread as well as I thought it would.
The car had just been washed, and had been clayed about a month ago followed with Meguiers wax/polish. Maybe it didn't work very well cause I didn't remove the previous wax from a month ago. I bought the stuff for my 993 and was just practicing with it on my other car. Whadda ya guys think ? I know everyone swears by Zaino, but I guess I missed something...

FWIW...
Here's what I did on mine.

And here is another Zaino fan with detailed instructions:

Also, check out the instructions on the www.zainobros.com or www.zainostore.com website. The trick is to put it on so thinly that you think it is ridiculous. However, 2 oz? Do you mean the whole 8 oz bottle or whatever it is? The site says 8 oz should do 20 coats on a Corvette, so I'm guessing maybe 10 on an SUV?

I think removal of any old waxes is very important. They suggest a wash with a liquid detergent (e.g., Dawn) which is something not normally recommended for a vehicle. This gets rid of any previous wax.
The photo I took was after 4 coats over 3 days. I think it needs a minimum of 2 coats. The Z6 mist is also very good for a finish.
I used about 1/2 of the 2 oz. bottle for each wax.
The combination was: wash with Dawn; Z5 with ZFX (X2); Z2 with ZFX; Z6.
I fugure I will give it a coat of Z2 or Z5 and a misting of Z6 every month or so to keep the finish.

I just spent yesterday doing the Zaino thing. Wash, clay, wash, Z5, Z6, Z2, Z6, Z2, Z6 - a lot of time and beer. I really like the results. The finish is so smooth and slippery, really something. I do think the 1oz per coat seems a bit light, but I managed to stay with the program.
Agro1 - I agree with RRLOwen when he recommends to wash with Dawn first to remove any old waxes. Clay bar is optional depending on the condition of your paint, but it couldn't hurt and if you're going through the trouble of applying multiple coats of Zaino, I would recommend it.
Although Zaino produced a shine on my car the likes of which I have never seen before (see below), it did not do a good job of removing swirl marks and fine scratches. I've seen lots of other posts that describe different techniques for swirl mark removal, but before my next Zaino treatment, I'm probably either going to try the Griot's machine polish system or one of the 3M products applied with a random-orbital polisher. This past weekend I watched a gentleman from a local detailing outfit remove swirl marks in several cars using one of these, and I was amazed.
