Post Squealing Brakes

My brakes have started to squeal badly. Very metallic sounding, like track pads…Only with light pressure.. hard braking bring little to none and the harder I press the less the squeal.…

Any suggestion where to start to solve the sound?

48,000 miles on them… 2,000 of them mine..


I looked at the rotors and the have ridges in them… also one front has the edges very well polished, like it is rubbing

John,

With that kind of mileage on original pads you may have run out of pad and are now running on the metal backing plate. I would either look at them SOON or have someone look at them before you ruin your rotors.
