Assuming that you were using a high quality filter (Porsche OEM, Mahle, etc) no worries. The thickness of the steel "can" of the good quality filters is such that they are quite robust so there's no structural issues. A major dent could effect the flow of oil through the filter but I'm sure that your "little dent" is not major and won't have any effect at all. Some really cheap filters are made of such crappy metal that you might have a problem if you used one of them (hopefully not). Like the old saying goes, put a cheap filter/oil in a cheap engine...Cheers,
