Oil Change lessons learned
It took me 1 hour, 20 min from the time I walked in the garage to complete including driving the car to get the temp up before topping of the oil level. Since this is my fourth oil change I should be getting better but I can not see how I could do it much faster.
Some things that helped me:
1. remove the samll filter first
2. Then while the engine was draining, I pulled of the wheel and wheel liner.
3. I put a plastic bag over the rocker molding and a piece of plastic inside the wheel well to save the clean up issues.
4. After I replaced big filter and put the plug back in, I would put in a 1/2 quart of oil, put the wheel liner back on, put in 1/2 quart oil, , put on the wheel, pour more oil. etc This saved a lot of time from where I in the past had to spend forever to slowly pour in the oil.
It seem like this should be able to be done in one hour, but I can not seems to hit the mark

Jack, I think 1.5hrs is good time for a 993 oil service. especially since you are thurough and changed the PIA filter as well. I cringe(sp?) when I hear stories of the PIA filter not getting changed, even when Porsche dealers performed the oil change. I think an hour and a half is good time. Congrats <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />
