Default M033 and Koni Combo - Front Too High

Hello Listers,

I recently purchased 95 993 C2, Grand prix white. It is totally stock and the first thing I did was to lower it!
I have M033 spring and Koni Active shocks from Carnewal. I intalled them and the car handles amazing and looks great.
However, the fronts have about 2 finger gaps and the rear has 1 finger gap. Front shocks are lowered to the lowest setting, Maybe I have 2 threads left for the lock nut - so I could go lower about 2mm more but that's about it.
Is it normal for it to sit higher on the front than the rears, even when the fronts are lowered to the lowest setting?

Pretty sure all 911's are higher at the front by about 15mm, IB cars are for sure

M033 should measure 144mm F/127mm R from the subframe.

IIRC, an additional 2mm drop on the shock body will result in about 4mm drop at the fender. Not much but better than none. H&R springs with Konis would’ve given you less than one finger gap.

I have a set of Eibach black sport springs available if you want to change.

On my 96 C2 NB, the measurement from the floor to the top of the wheel arch is 25-3/4" front and 25-1/8" on the rear. I used a digital level on the door threshold to get the front lower, with a 2 degree body "rake". The rear wheel arch is lower than the front by about 1-1/4" if the body is level.
That is with the Kona Active Red Shocks and factory M033 springs. However it's a Tiptronic car and the rear spring are different than the 6 speed.

Did you follow Gert's instructions when doing the install?

Here are some photos, Basically trying to match the amount of air gap on the rear tire to the front. It looks fine but I thought I was able to lower the front even more but this is at the lowest setting...

To my eye, that looks absolutely perfect. I would be happy if mine turns out like that when I go with the Sam combination.

I have KWv3s now, but I initially installed KONI/M033. This is what it looked like. It does seem a bit lower.

Keep in mind this is the old Koni shocks that had the longer shock body. I had to have the springs wired to the top hat to avoid spring float when off loading the suspension. The new Konis don't require this, but I don't know if they sit differently.

When I bought my Bilstein HD's and MO30 springs a long time ago from Gert, he provided detailed installation instructions including the position of the lower spring mount on the shocks which determines the resultant height of the car. Turned out perfect, and I am still very happy with their performance and see no need to change them.

BTW, according to your pictures, the ride height looks good.
