No personal interest in this, but OG Racing has ATE brake fluid for sale at $6.95/L, which is an excellent price! I don't know if the sale is over today - seem to recall something in their newsletter about a last week of the year sale. Their site is www.ogracing.com.

Yes. I've read that unopened brake fluid in plastic containers has, at most, a 2 year shelf life since the plastic itself is actually porous. Unopened metal containers (e.g., ATE) have a longer shelf life (I've heard at least 3 years), but the fluid does degrade due to microscopic leaks at seams which vary between containers. Then, there's the air in the bottle which also causes some degradation. Some makers actually fill the "air" space w/nitrogen.
I'm figuring 3 years for my stock of ATE.
