Default Wheel Wax

Got to let you guys know about a great product I just tried(no affiliation etc.) called Wheel Wax. I have polished wheels and this stuff goes on easy and makes the wheels shine like all get out. I am also told it helps prevent brake dust build -up. Just thought I would pass it along. Mike W

How long does it last?

I would think with any type of significant braking and the resulting heat, it would melt off any type of wax on the wheels.

But... Maybe it would be good for easy street driving?

Jeff, I had used it in the past and it seemed to work better and last longer than other "wheel stuff." Can't say how it would fare on the track, but my guess is it would work longer then most anything else.

Hi Jeff,
I am with WheelWax and will try to answer your question regarding durability. We have tested WheelWax on the track with great results on everything from a race prepared IMSA Ferrari to a NASCAR truck. WheelWax is really a synthetic and was developed specifically for use on wheels which do heat up even in daily driving. You are right that regular car wax would melt and could make your dusting problem worse. WheelWax will not melt even on the hottest wheels. Another track bonus, this is the best product when it comes to taking off the tar, oil and marks left from "marbles" being thrown onto your lower fenders and rockerpanels at the track. It cleans the marks off and leaves a great protective shine on your body panels in one step. It also comes with a money back guarantee. Hope this helps. Thanks also to Mike W 97TT for the rec.

I don't want to come off too pitchy, I am just a car guy who likes clean wheels. I am glad to answer any wheel problem questions. I still go to a lot of concours competitions, Hot Rod shows and every sportscar race I can find. We have worked on just about every kind of wheel and wheel problem immaginable. Thanks for the support.

Great Info! I need to try it 'cause anything that makes cleaning the wheels easier is a friend of mine. I found if I don't completely clean the wheel by hand (inside & out) once per week it's a bigger headache in the long run. And luckily my wheels - 18" Technology - allow me to get my hand into the inner surfaces for wiping down with a soapy sock.
