Do 993's have a rev limiter?

The stock chip in the DME has a limiter that prevents you from accelerating, using the gas pedal, to an unsafe engine speed.

It does not prevent you from using the gear shift, and hitting second when you wanted 4th, and exceeding the safe engine speed.
