I personally do not see anything wrong with the repair. The car looks as good as new. Having seen the car in person at TWS before the BBQ it was really well done and beauifull. If I had the money and could pick it up for 50K I would do it in a heartbeat.
Im surprised its going so high with the salvage title- but it does look great!
Do insurance cos always pay $84000.00 settlements on $15000.00 repairs?
Seems odd.
I've emailed the seller a few times and have gotten an uneasy feeling. First of all, she changed the reserve after the auction had been going a while. Secondly, she would not allow a bid subject to PPI - said any inspections had to be done before the end of the auction. Third, she is representing the car as perfect. Well I see a missing front tow hook cover and the wing is missing a seal that goes on the rear edge. Makes you wonder what else they left off or forgot. Finally, she is offering to help the winning bidder get around the salvage title issue. Is that Kosher? I'm not saying I smell a rat, but I don't see what the problem is with allowing a ppi after the auction ends if the car is as perfect as she says, especially since I offered to reimburse her for the cost of relisting it if rejected.
people like that make me sick...If the car is perfect there is no need to go to such length to prove it and she should be willing to let anyone inspect it, before or after the auction closes.
She obviously is not selling the car to take a loss, so you have to wonder; how much is she making on it ?? Either way, just another bottom feeding eBay scumbag...
if you're serious about it, i might suggest contacting evan (AMG ETR) off the 996 and 996TT list - he works at FVD and seems very nice. he may be able to shed some light on this car.
Thanks Brian. I called, although I am more curious than interested. Evan doesn't know anything about the car, other than it was at FVD. The guy that did the work already went home today.

Greg,
Vince just returned, I was mistaking....he just had to run out. If you want to give him a call, I am sure he could help you out. I was just out there looking at the car, and it looks good to me and it runs good also, but thats as much as I know about it
$50K + for any salvage car in my opinion is to much. Unless your talking about a Lamborghini or F40,F50. The car caught on fire the insurance company paid it off and they probally bought it for around $35K which I have seen several times before. I'm am obviously guessing but I would think another $7K in repairs like paintwork and so one. So for $50K they are going to make approximately $8K +-. JMO. There is a place on autotrader that always has cars like this I thinks it's eco car or something like that. They had a similar car with the engine pulled that sold in the $30's.
