Default Safely Lifting Your 993 onto Jack Stand-UPDATE

Dear Rennlisters,
I have made major revisions and compiled updates to the attached document in the section that covers how to lift the rear of a 993 for placement on jack stands.
It was a learning experience for me. And I want to thank those here who contributed to my understanding.
I hope you find it useful:

Andy,

On your crossbar recommendation, you can also use these from LiftBars, They have a 993 version.

FYI, Liftbars site specifically lists NOT to use the flat top ESCO stands with their product. They do have a link for the typical saddle posts for Esco's.

Hi Arti,
I added the alternative you suggested to my page, Thanks!
It looks like the lift bars remain in place in the jack stand saddles and two liftBars are needed to raise both sides of the car.
Am I correct in my observation?
Andy

Andy,

Why would you not hyperlink back to Rennlist directly where you note the source of the info/poll. Instead you link to another part of your blog where you paraphrase everyone's responses. Isn't this where we build community, share ideas and solutions? Seems to be a one way street.

It's frankly grown quite annoying.

I've blocked Andy so I no longer see all of his spam posts that just direct people to his blog. He also seems to take content from here and pictures posted by members (including myself) without even asking for permission.

Yes, the liftbars stay in place with jack stands holding them up and you need two. They are sold in pairs. I have no affiliation with this company or the product, but I know people who have purchased them for 964s and love them.

Agree. To directly solicit members here for their input and to take others knowledge,, etc and repost on one's own site is just wrong. I applaud what Robin did with p-car.com which was share his own knowledge and experiences vs. blatantly take from others. I am shocked it's been allowed to go on so long. I am very grateful this site/forum exists and to all those who contribute to the community here. Let's keep the content here.
