Question Weird Porsche: strange parts behavior

GDay, from down under.
Strange thing happened to me at my local porsche dealer recently.
Checked my tool kit and realised it didnt have the special tool to help change the belts with, it had a similar looking tool, but without the 12 piont "key", just a flat head type screwdriver end instead. Went to the Porsche dealer, after lusting at the Carrera GT on display ( but not for sale), and said i'd like to buy one please, just in case i need a roadside change one day.
Nope! Porsche, ( the dealer checked with the national distributor) will not sell one, as " it was not originally sold with 993's ", tried to be smart and order a 964 version...Nope! same reason.
Said, hang on what if i break a belt in the middle of nowhere ( theres a lot of nowhere in Australia!), and told "well youll just have to truck it back to the nearest dealer", even if literally that was a 1000 miles away... for a fan belt...
So, I bought one from a special tool specialist in the USA.
Whats up with Porsche, does this stupidity happen in others countries?

Cheers Lyndon

That is just typical "stealer-dealer" attitude. Unfortunately, many Porsche dealers are like this. In the USA, there is no PCNA proscription against selling these tools that I am aware of. Australia might be different.
