I used a search for the number on my pet cd and it came up as headlamp so it could be some part for the headlamp hope this helps.

The part number is for a US. right side 96+ head light assembly with M601 (litronic) option.

Actually, i don't think it's weird at all...someone selling this part and it sounded fishy to me...Robin's info helped significantly
