Well for those of you who dont have access....

Do you drive a Porsche 911? Smile please, you're probably on camera
By Alan Hamilton

WITH its low, slinky curves and headlights like Bette Davis’s eyes, the Porsche 911 is the most photographed car in Britain. Unfortunately for drivers, it’s speed cameras that are taking the pictures.
Forever associated with City slickers on bumper bonuses, the upmarket brainchild of the man who designed the Volkswagen Beetle for the Führer is flashed on camera, or pulled in by police, more than any other car model, according to a survey of 4,000 motorists by Auto Express, the car magazine.

More than one third of all 911 owners had been apprehended, personally or automatically, for having their foot to the floor, the survey showed.Sitting close on the Porsche’s tail for being flashed or pulled in were a number of predictable suspects, including models from the Mercedes, MG, Alfa Romeo and Audi stables.

But more sedate carriages did not escape the attention of the speed police. Nearly one third of Saab drivers, sometimes classified as those too elderly to own a “real” sports car, were caught on camera. Jaguar XJ owners were similarly cavalier with speed limits.

More surprising was the number of times that Citroën Saxo drivers were given the blue-light treatment. Nearly one fifth of Saxo owners were pulled over, giving the lie to the vehicle’s reputation of being more basic than ballistic.

At the other end of the scale are the politically correct goodie-goodies. One of the least-stopped vehicles last year was the Ford Galaxy, the people-carrier forever associated with the six-member Blair tribe. That sort of driver doesn’t speed; he just talks a lot and goes to war.

Other vehicles which escaped the attentions of the law and its all-seeing eye were a variety of Citroën and Honda models, which their detractors would claim are not capable of even reaching the speed limit, downhill with a following wind.

Ten per cent of the drivers surveyed had been stopped by the police in the past year, more than half for speeding and the rest for a variety of offences including “junction violation” — jumping a red light — driving in a bus lane or having an unroadworthy car. One third said the police had been polite, but a fifth found them discourteous.

A spokesman for Auto Express said: “It is the driver behind the wheel, not the car you are driving, that determines whether or not you are stopped or flashed by a camera. Porsche 911 drivers have high-performance cars, but they also tend to drive in a more spirited fashion than your average driver.”

It can’t all be down to the horsepower. When the survey was last conducted, the most stopped vehicle was the Smart Car — the space-saving pram with the big key in the side.
