Default V1 install - kudos to my mechanic!!

As I stated in an earlier post my mechanic installed my V1 in what I consider to be a pretty ingenious way: he fabricated piece of aluminum, then wrapped it in black leather to match the interior. He then added a support aluminum piece to the rear. I will post pics, unfortunately they don't do the install justice. It is totally hidden from the outside, never moves (even during hard cornering) and has great coverage in 360 degrees. I have actually tried to convince my mechanic to talk to Valentine (the company is only a 40 minute drive from here) and work out a deal to fabricate these in bulk. It is a night and day difference from those ridiculous suction cup device that is supposed to attach below the mirror (right in the center of the windshield????).

Alex,

Looks great. You have a good tech there, make sure you keep him on your Christmas card list.

Thumbs up

Very stealth and blends in with the interior nicely. Do you have a zoomed out pic of interior?

I'd buy one if your mechanic wants to make a few...my car is a cab but I assume the visor mounts are in the same place.

What would be really sweet though would be a box that covers the V1 and has dark plexiglass in the front and back.

Nice but I think it needs to be completely wrapped to avoid prying police eyes. The display is also fairly far out of your line of sight. Do you have any problems realizing there's a warning when you have the stereo up?

My tech was an amazing find. He was recommended to me by John Dixon (who has an amazing collection of Porsches, including the first street legal 959). If anybody comes to Dayton I would highly recommend going to see his private collection (he opens it up for small donations to his favorite charity - The Ronald McDonald House). He has somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 Porsches. His web site is www.tajmagaraj.com. John will only let him touch his cars. That's a good enough endorsement for me. By the way I will attach some picture of tajmagarage.

Actually the line of site on it is awsome!! Its completely unobtrusive yet the arrows are in my peripheral vision whenever I want them to be. We tried many different angles and this was far and away the best. Stereo has never been an issue (and I like to play it loud).

Quick Reply: V1 install - kudos to my mechanic!!
