Default Help ignition key won't turn!!

I had an amp installed at the audio store they did not wire to anything but when i came to pick it up the key won't turn at all!! Is it a code thing? I read the manual but I can't even get the key to turn to enter the code. ANY help appreciated thanks Beto

May be dumb, but did you try jiggling the wheel? I am not sure if these cars have wheel lock or not, I am new to the 993.

Yes I managed to jiggle the wheel into a locked position, now I'm wondering if it can still be towed if necessary. I also checked to make sure the tip was in park.

As TrackJunkie said, did you move the wheel so it is not pushing on the steering lock pin. Sometimes you have to hold the wheel off of the pin to get the key to turn. It is hard to explain but the wheel if it is up against the pin will not allow the key to turn.

Good luck!

Pull the wheel to the direction that takes the pressure off of the "stop" of the lock and at the same time turn the key. I noticed the problem when the car is on a side hill or when the wheel is really cranked over all the way.

This happened to my 97 Tip once. The shop said that it was an adjustment at the transmission.

yeah. i like to hear that. i love this place

had a sim. thing happen when i returned w/ date to my car after a dinner in the hills. panic hit... but found that if you force the wheel a bit w/o hitting it completely to the side... the key will turn. funny thing is is this is not just on the type 993's it also occured once in a while on my ol' 986.

cheers.

Am I missing something here? Every car I've ever owned (about 20 of them) had this "feature".
