I ordered the shift **** from Type911uk last year and recently I feel the aluminum part is getting a little loose. Does anyone know if there are tricks for me to open the top shift pattern plate without scratching the **** to tighten the screws? Is the plate glued in?
Any help appreciated! Thanks.

A repair kit is on its way! Dont try and take the **** apart, Im pretty sure you will damage it

I'm also experiencing looseness in the **** - the top gear pattern plate was loose, and now whole **** is pretty loose, with about 2mm lateral movement. @Type911uk I'd be interested in one of these repair kits.

I ended up found the answers to my own questions! There are two screws under the top plate insert can be tighten. You can follow this thread to disassemble the shift ****: https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...gear-****.html
I used the long torx key I think was T-20 from Harbor Freight: https://www.harborfreight.com/6-piec...set-42926.html to pop off the top steel plate from the bottom hole. Hope this helps!

Is a repair kit still needed or just the heat gun and pop the cap off?

If Andy resolved the loose top by tightening the 2 screws as per his post I would try that. All new ***** have now been modified so this shouldnt be a problem anymore
