Default New keys made!

Ordered my blanks and lighted key heads from Suncoast Porsche.

A special thanks to Don Finch of Finch’s lock service, South Norwalk, CT.... for making quick work and doing a perfect job cutting these keys. Don is super knowledgeable and was more than fair with the price he charged. if anyone in the area needs keys made look no further.

Happy to report the keys worked perfectly when I got home.

I would remove the pic - it is a nice sharp pic of the keys, for someone to dup the key from. Good that the house key is not legible.

Yep keys were super easy to get. Just bought the parts from suncoast (I think it was them), took it to a local locksmitch and keys are perfect.

I used some metal conducting material from old HO slot car brushes to refurbish the internals in my original lighted keys so the light would work perfectly......

So the lights on the new keys are incredibly bright and therefore have become very useful. The cost of buying the blanks online and having them cut was a mere fraction of what the dealer wanted (no surprise).

I never thought someone could duplicate my keys from an online photo. I was proud of my shiny new keys, and several folks here on the forum suggested sources that proved very helpful.... so I thought I would share a photo to make the post a bit more interesting.

I do appreciate the heads up. My thought is guys here on the forum all have their own air cooled cars already and don’t need to steal mine. My guess is being a model year 95 just about anyone could figure out how to hot wire it in short order. Is that possible?

I completely agree. Remove the photographs immediately. Keys can be cut by way of a photograph.

It's not the owners/enthusiasts here you need to worry about. It's the lurkers. Edit that pic. The last key can be printed out and used as a template so easily that one could duplicate that key very very easily. Without a locksmith.

Thanks for making me aware of the key/photo stealing software. I never even considered it. The photo should be down. Tough world we live in. I’m going to sound old.... never had to worry about that stuff back when life was simple.
