993 Bilstein HD Shocks Installed!
#31
Viken,
Cary started to ask you about the part number for your HD's...is that something you could post, as my mechanic is trying to make sure that he orders the correct shocks. On Friday Gert said he only had 1 set left, I am hoping my mechanic can locate a set for me.
Thanks,
Evan

Bilstein HD #'s per Gert:
VE3-4692-H0(L)
BE5-6130-H0(L)
VE3-4693-H0(R)
BE5-6131-H0(R)
Gert has no techinal data on either the ROW Sport or Bilstein HD dampers.
Seems Viken is our only source. OK by me!

Sorry, here are the part numbers:
Front:
VE3-4692-HO / L
VE3-4693-HO / R
Rear:
BE5-6130-HO / L
BE5-6131-HO / R
There really is only one set of Bilstein replacement shocks for the 993. You can see the listing on the Bilstein web site as well.

Viken,
I was wondering why you chose the Bilsteins over the PSS-9's. Could you compare the pros and cons of these units?
Also, with the Bilsteins, can you have adjustable sway bars on both front and rear, or only the rear? Do you plan on adding them? Thanks.

My car is mostly driven on the streets and occasionally on the track. I wanted a system which gave the car a good ride and helped it handle well. I felt the PSS-9's cannot be adjusted for optimal handling on the street while retaining a reasonable ride quality (at least for me). Also, adjusting them is a real PITA which is something I wasn't willing to go through.
