Default Race seats and 3 point belts...

I got some Recaro SPG's with Recaro side brackets and sliders. There does not seem to be any provision for mounting the inside seat belt recepticle. I ordered some sort of bracket from Par Porshe but I am not sure exactly if it is going to work for me. What have you guys done? Thanks.

Some people might not like my solution, but here is what I did, and it is comfortable and I feel secure. ( flame suit on) Thankfully, I have not had to test it. I removed the female rear belt, and bolted it to a hole I drilled in the inside seat bracket. It tucks in next to the center tunnel when I'm not using it, but can rotate up when I use my street belt. Since the stock seat has the inboard belt mounted to it, I don't see this as being drastically different as far as anchoring strength. The belt does not fit tight against my abdomen (medical term for beer belly) because I have Evo 2s, but would probably even fit better with your SPGs.

Let me get this straight. You are using the seat belt recepticle from the rear seats of the car. How do you then plug in the electronics that connect to the seat belt recepticle in the front right now?

I have not found the electronics necessary.

So you just unpluged them and left them that way? I thought that it would trigger an airbag light or the seatbelt light would constantly be on.

I think that the seat belt light stays on. To tell you the truth, I don't know! I have had it for a while, and if it is on, I don't notice it.

The Factory and Recaro solution is part #24 (964.521.065.00). This "support" sandwiches between the slider and bracket and you'll need washers, part #27 (999.025.231.03), at the three other attachment points to even things out. The support uses the stock bolt and washers to attach the inboard seatbelts.

I was looking at the seat and the rear seat belt buckle and it seems to fit really well in the rear mount hole on the side bracket. I was thinking of just getting a longer bolt and mounting it there. Would there be something really wrong with this?

I would just recommend that there be enough metal surrounding the hole that you are referring to to prevent the metal from shearing in the event of an accident. Also, there should be enough room for a large washer on each side of the hole to reinforce it. Thirdly, make sure that it will be reachable once the seat is mounted. Mine is a little tight, but the Evo 2 might be wider than your SPG.
Good Luck!

Track,

I just recently did this with my Pole Position Install. I used the OEM inside seat belt recepticles with part number 24 from Joey's picture above. I don't have the actual part number with me, but I or someone else can look it up on the PET. It is under the seating category.

The Seat Belt recepticles fit nicely, but they rub against the center console pretty badly as there is a lack of enough space.

Good luck,

-Skip

Just ordered these parts. The washers are a month out. The other two pieces are a couple weeks. If they decrease my headroom too much I'll have to think of something else.
