Thumbs up Prestige Imports, Inc - Dead 993 in Boulder revisited

Well Skip brought his C4S over last week and allowed me to try my DME in his car (Thanks Skip).

His car started without problem so we knew it had to be something else.

Skip made matters worse by not only having his car start but he also demonstrated his sound system which put my Factory DSP/HiFi option to shame.

After skip had left we noticed the engine had a small oil leak and just to be safe we thought we had better get the car to the dealer.

Stammler Porsche of Boulder was the nearest dealer, but we refuse to do any business with them (long story).

We called up Prestige Imports (Porsche/Audi) Inc. who completed the 30k service on the turbo 1500 miles ago.

I spoke with Trever Stergar and he arranged to have the car picked up by enclosed trailer and drop off a loner (A6 Audi) while they worked on the car.

Later than day we got a call from Trever along with their Service Manager.

They said the engine was swamped with too much fuel but they got it started by depressing the gas petal down all the way and cranking the ignition. Apparently, this condition can happen when the engine is stalled when cold.

It is good that my wife couldn't start the car as after they got it started, the oil leak became worse. Had she started it she would have driven off leaking oil and probably seized the engine!

In any case Prestige fixed the oil leak, topped off the engine, and even washed the car. To my amazement they said this all was at no charge as I just had the 30k service done there.

If you have your Porsche or Audi serviced in the Denver Area I would defiantly check out Prestige (303) 238 8101.

Thanx for the update Richard - glad it worked out fine. Out of curiosity, what was the oil leak?

As a side note, I had an Audi Coupe Quattro in college (Regis University) in 93 and 94 and Prestige ripped me off on service with that car. I ended up finding an Audi coupe quattro specialist in Boulder - I wonder if he's still around. Supposed to be the Quattro guru in the area. Anyway, Prestige probably saw me as a spoiled college kid and treated me accordingly. Of course I got the car for $4500, so the joke was on them.

Rich - Glad to hear the problem was minor and is fixed.

Regarding Prestige, I recently bought my first p-car (97 c2) and had the single best service experience of my life at Prestige last week. The car needed new front rotors and pads, a belly pan, a spoilier boot and a 15K service. Trever was fantastic. He got the car in on short notice (we were leaving for a trip and I wanted to get this done while we were gone), threw in a free detailing and 1 hour inspection and even suggested that if I wasn't already a member of the Rocky Mtn. Region PCA, he could sign me up and deduct 15% from the cost of all parts. I would highly recommend the shop for service.

EJ - Sorry to hear you had a bad experience there. I hope some things have changed since 93-94.
