Pardon my ignorance and this amateur question, but how come nobody races GT2s? Only see GT3s all the time. Looking at GT2's data, it seems to have more power and race technology in it's engine.

I would guess its because there isn't factory support?

Rules. I'd guess there are no racing series that have rules packages that would allow it to be competitive. I suspect that if there were, there would be a factory GT2RSR.

Yes, I think the above is correct. There were rules back in the 993 GT2 days that those GT2 cars competed in. I am not aware of any bodies that the new GT2 would qualify for and even if it did it would not do well because it might be a misfit in the upper classes.

A 996GT2 would run in the ALMS and the FIA-GT in the GTS class. But Porsche won't make one. Simple as that.
