The only problem that I have with the top folding is that the rear window tends to get a kink in it as the top goes down. Sometimes I stop with the top half way down and manually un-wrinkle it before puting it down the rest of the way, and sometimes I don't. It always straightens itself out by the time it's all of the way down.
Another problem that I have is that the cover puts fine scratches into the paint where it comes into contact with it near the basket handle spoiler. I think I'll try the cotton strip solution that was recommended above.

Give it a shot. You see those two screws on both sides of the valance? Unscrew those with the top down. If it looks too complicated, close it up and bring it in.
