What MDude was trying to say, is Congratulations. Porsche 993s are fun cars and this forum has many experienced owners willing to discuss important as well as picayune topics related to that model; All enthusiasts welcome.
Searching the almost twenty years of archived, mostly US centric forum, discussions, you'll almost certainly find an experienced rennlister post tackling your exact question.

Congrats on buying the best looking and one of the most fun to drive (IMO) Porsches. From what I read on these forums, living in California is bitter sweet - best selection and quality of techs, and worst gas. Don't know why you guys can't form a bit of a political presence to get at least one widely available higher octane, non corn juice option.

Congratulations and welcome to the madness. Just north of Orange Country in Torrance is Callas Rennsport. They have a great reputation but tend to charge more than other shops.
The search function on this site is pretty good and can keep one busy for hours searching various topics. But, don't hesitate to ask!
Post some photos and tell us about the 993 when you have time. We're pretty good helping you spend your money and pushing you down the slippery slope.

Congrats on the new toy. I believe you lol. A REALLY good air cooled mechanic is imperative if you are going to own and enjoy these cars. Choose wisely, not by the guy who is perhaps the closest to you. These cars are a blast... have fun!
