Hey, how do you like that Autostacker lift? It always looked to me that accessing the bottom car might be difficult- it looks like it might be kind of blocked by the X-frame lifting mechanism.
Curious to hear real-world experience with one.
.
Definitely understand your concern re: door access. It's a minor issue at the lowest locking point and becomes increasingly irrelevant as you raise the platform further. With a 911 as long as you don't pull it too far in it's not a problem even at the bottom lock.
Note: In that picture above the lift is in the middle well below the lowest lock so it looks very problematic. One would never store a car that way.
Welcome back Tim! I didn't realize that you had sold your 993 but had heard through the grapevine that you had let your other air cooled go. Look forward to seeing it at our local PCA dinners at Western Sizzlin at 4:30 in the afternoon.
Great shot there! What took so long to get it shipped?
Edwin
Approx three weeks at Stoner Brothers repainting front bumper, hood, fixing cowl rust and replacing windshield. Then another three weeks at Scott Finlay for a range of maintenance items, alignment/height adjustment, etc. Car should look and feel brand new after all the $$$ I just poured in to it. But it was an easy decision to spend all that given I know the car inside/out (literally).

Great call. If it's a keeper, might as well get all the work done on the front end and enjoy it from the get-go! Congrats again and it'll be a great Christmas gift to yourself!
Thanks for all the kind words. Never felt like I'd left the community but it's good to be back in a 993. Car is home. And just for fun, a shot of another car that had to be taken off the truck to get mine out.

With a lift like that, just how did you open the 993's door to exit once it's parked in?
