Post Porsche Track Day - Iowa?

I was coming back from Omaha, NE (heading to Kansas City) this weekend on I-29 and passed a track covered with Porsches. There must have been 30+. Anyone know what was going on this weekend? I wanted to stop but the kids were sleeping and my wife advised against it. I had no idea we had that much of an interest this close to KC, please let me know how often you get together.

Fletcher,

I just checked my National Speedway Directory (here is the online version) and I don't see any road courses in Nebraska. Can you be a little more specific? Maybe it was an autox at an airport or a parking lot?

It was an actual track in Iowa, it looked like they were getting up there on the back straight probably 120+, I never saw a name, about 164 miles north of Kansas City on I-29. I wish I would have had my camera, I would have definately stopped and taken some pictures.

No road courses listed in Iowa either - in the book or the website. My book is a 2000 model, so it could be a little old, but as I said, no track is listed on the site either.

YOu might have to do some research on this one. Can you find a town nearby so I can look on a map?

Found it, I should have stopped. Hopefully they will meet again soon. The track was http://www.midamericamotorplex.com/ and it was the http://vista.pca.org//gpl/. I have been by the track before and there were all kinds of cars there, pretty cool to see all Porsches this time. Thanks for the research, I wonder if we have any members on here that were there?
