Default Exhaust and shocks - quick question

Hello, I’m just starting to get acquainted with the air cooled world. Is anyone able to tell me from this picture if
1. That’s the factory shocks = 97 S
2. that’s a standard muffler 97 S, or something else?
Thanks.

Original looking?

Oem or ?

The shocks are aftermarket Koni's which is a nice upgrade over the originals which would be shot by now. As for the exhaust, that looks like OEM catalytic converters but can not see the mufflers from this pic. Also looks like '95 with single O2 sensor in ctr., not 97. Mufflers are located behind the rear tires.

Thanks. That’s a good start. Got to laugh re ‘muffler’ - I’d better get a better pic!

Looks like the silicone rubber “flappers” are missing from the two aluminum vents inboard of the heat exchangers? I think they are red and should show up in that engine photo.

Note that I added comment on year of catalytic converter above. Looks to be a '95 with single O2 which would not be on a 97 as you had asked

Unless the car came from the US it would be an OBD1 car like the '95s, w/ only a single O sensor centrally located in the mixing chamber of the cat. I have one just like it., The RoW 9'7s are OBD1 w/ vram & w/o SAI

Thanks all. Yes it’s a ROW car. You guys are very perceptive. Had a full ppi now and other than minor things it’s a goer to buy. Very happy.

For the Cdr21 - the volume button Is a little tired. That easy to change or a tough one? I see you can buy them at least!

Becker Autosound in NJ is excellent for fixing old radios. They can also do a bluetooth upgrade to that unit as well.

Looks just like my '95, put the Koni FSDs on during the 100k engine out service.
