Red face GT3 seat - how much lower?

As I don't fit in my 1996 993 C2 with a helmet on (yes - I do have a sunroof...) I need to fit a sportseat. I was thinking of buying the GT3 seat designed for the 993.

How much lower will the seat be compared to a standard seat when it is fully lowered. I would need to gain approx. 2 inches. Any thoughts?

Secondly, black leather or black nomex for the GT3 seat. An thoughts on this?

Greatful for all input. I have searched the archives but not found any similair postings/answers.

Thanks

Jonas

Jonas,

I ordered the GT3 seats about two months ago for precisely the same reason (and to reduce the amount of arm and leg bracing needed during track days). However, because I've ordered an unusual color (chestnut brown), they may not arrive for a few more months. In the past, I have not found the answer to your question on this board, but I plan to post my experience when the seats arrive.

Have you tried asking Gert ? He is very knowledgeable and helpful, and my seats were ordered through him.

Good luck!

Nomex. Not only is it better for safety, but it gives you better 'stiction' in the seat. Even though you'll have big bolsters to hold you in place, the fabric upholstery will add that extra support.
