I'm thinking that Andy's idea with the 100db piezo squeaker might get on my one remaining nerve. I the sound of jay's solution, more of a click-click or dare I say a Tik-Tok, so I'm waiting for him to clue us in on how to do it his way.
The low volume clicking doesn't bother me as much as the cheap feeling "bendy plastic" (citing LimeyBoy John) stalks. The turn signal and wiper stalks on my '98 Audi (long gone but not forgotten) were much better. I don't use the turn signals very often because I'm afraid the cheap **** stalks and mechanism (which aren't cheap to replace) will break. I am old-school though and use hand signals before I make a turn.
So here's a quick-and-dirty solution. There was enough room to put a small board inside the OEM relay. Piezo sits on top. The circuit simulates the "big-click/ small-click" sound of the relay contacts by alternating 2 and 5 ms pulses at the blink rate. Any longer it starts sounding like a smoke alarm (yikes). It's probably 3-4 times louder - more noticeable without being obnoxious. Have a listen to the attached. Going in the car tomorrow.
When I installed the Tore LED bulbs and blinker relay mine clicks 2-3 times after I turn off the signal. Tore sent a replacement relay but it did the same thing.
