Any hints on quieting down a noisy sunroof mechanism. Mine sounds like a rusty, overhead garage door.

Haven't really noticed the mechanism as I rarely open mine due to the wind buffetting that occurs at even low speeds.

Has anyone found an aftermarket add on to address. Most cars now have a pop-up front edge deflector that seems to take care of the problem. Not really interested in the roof mounted type.

Have you looked at the tracks? Are they clean and lightly lubed??

Keith, i agree the buffetting is bad at even low speeds. If I am alone in the car i lower the passenger widow ever so slightly. This helps a good bit.

I also noticed a small amount of buffiting from my open sunroof and I solved it by only opening it 90% of the way...this seemed to make mine go away. Hope this helps

My sun roof has a wind deflector that pops up when opening it. Isn't this standard? I have never really noticed wind buffetting any worst in this car than in an of my other sun roof cars, expect for my form 2000 BMW which barely allowed any wind in at all.

As for the sun roof, mine is extremely noisy also. The sound is not the sound from the track but more the motor sound. It is quite loud. I just thought it was normal. No big deal really unless it is an indication of a problem. hmmm?
