Post Wheel Repair Recommendation

One of my rear wheels is scratched -- into the metal -- about a 4" long maybe an inch wide. looks like the previous owner got a bit close to a curb or something similar.
Has anyone done business with Wheel Repair by Adam in Dallas or Precision Wheel Service in MN. I've been in touch with Wheelenhancement -- they didn't seem as user friendly as these two outfits. By the way -- a new 17" rear wheel for one of our cars -- $795. wow

I've only dealt with Ye Old Wheel Shop in Jessup, Maryland. Excellent service. Check the back of Autoweek. There are several shops listed. Also, try searching on Ebay, there are always 17" Cup wheels for sale for much less than $795. Some are original, some are knock offs.

Good luck.

Jeff,

Don't know anything about the outfits you mentioned. I'm taking my wheels to Wheel Collision, in Bath, PA, later this week. I know several people who have used them and are very happy. You may want to check their web site, which is wheelcollision.com.

I don't know where you are located, but as you are apparently willing to ship your wheel for repair, call Al at Al Reed Specialty Polishing in Anaheim, Calif. Al has been doing Porsche wheels since the 1970s, and does excellent work. 714-632-3907. He has done several jobs for me with excellent results.

Old thread, but this is how I found Precision Wheel repair in Minnesota. DO NOT USE THEM! They painted my 997 wheels the wrong color, and left contaminants on the wheel before painting and the paint peeled off. They repainted it again, still the wrong color, and when I had my winter tires put on they paint chipped again. When I went back, the owner Gary told me it wasn't his problem.

Utterly disappointed, bad service, poor quality work. The only reason I'm making this post is that I found them here and I don't want anyone else to make the same mistake. DO NOT USE PRECISION WHEEL IN HOPKINS MINNESOTA.

What about Weidman Wheels? Heard good things. Wheel Enhancement (previously Robert Wood) was good and I got some refinished Fuchs for my 914 (in my avatar) that were and still are great looking, but I've heard some less than stellar reviews lately.

+1 on Weidman wheels. Not quick, but the best work I have found on wheels.
