Post Bilstein HD & M030 setup question

OK, had my Bilstein HD & M030 kit installed 2 weeks ago now, and I can say I am really impressed so far. My shocks must have been completely shot before, there is no harshness in the ride now, and the car doesn't want to skip around on bumpy bends.

There is one small problem, the place that fitted them left the front too high compared to the back, hoping that it would settle lower. As it hasn't, I am taking it back next week for the front to be dropped further. They have asked me to fill the tank full with fuel before brining it to them. My question is should the settings be carried out with a full fuel load, if not, how much fuel should be in there?

Many thanks
Eric

The proper proceedure is to have the tank full with the spare tire and tools inplace when you set the height and do an alignment.

Eric

I have installed also and like you I am enjoying the enhancement. I also thought I would be a little lower in the front. I am down less than an 1" in the front but more than the 3/4" that Dan in St. Louis got. Check out his thread/ odyssey

Our slight differences in suspension measurements may not be noticed visually or in measured ride height since variations in tire sizes (I'm using oem sized 18s), tire type (I'm on Pirelli As), and/or tire wear (I'm at 90%+ tread) can easily account for 1/4" or so.

The shop should also simulate a driver's weight when doing the CB and final setup.

Guys,

Bear in mind that not all cars are delivered from the factory at exactly the same height. There are always variations due to many parameters. If someone's car lowers only 3/4" on one corner, it could very well be at the same ride height as someone else's car which came down 1".
