For the 1997 993, what are the best replacement pedals that would make the heel/toe technique most achievable?

you don't need new pedals, stock work fine.
your brake pedal just needs adjustment.
in the pictures cupcar posted, see bottom left/center hole in plywood floor board, that is the adjustment.
remove clip, loosen lock nut and spin end to move brake pedal in or out.

Rennline rev2 but it’s stupid expensive. Listen to the gurus.

Wings pedal is excellent! Works perfect for using the side of your foot for the throttle blip.
It was too close for my body dimensions, so I eliminated the Wings mount and bolted it to the factory pedal.
I don't use the bottom extension, so I cut it off.

Haha nice mods MB! Glad you are happy with it

I have no idea how you guys use the heal on 993s. I can only use the side of my foot.
Well, also because I have real big feet I guess:)

It depends on the geometry , most people drive w/ the seat too far back, that's fine for relaxed street use but it makes heel/toe and steering harder

I am 6’4”. It’s all the way back and still I could use
more:)
in general I’m very comfortable in it but size 15 shoes don’t help either. Heel/toe has always been though for me. Side of the foot always good.

I have an original Wings Engineering throttle pedal that's adjustable in three planes. It's a great piece of engineering and makes heel and toeing super-easy. It slips right onto the stock pedal, so you don't have to dismantle the old pedal and fiddle with stuff like you have to do with the Rennline pedal. Setting it up just takes a few turns of a Phillips screwdriver one way or the other.

Unfortunately, the Wings is no longer available, but you might be able to find one on eBay if you set up a subscribed search.

Also, there was someone on eBay selling clones of them. I have one of these clones in my parts bin and thought it looked pretty good, but the finish on it isn't as refined as the original.

Here's on that sold about ten days ago: https://www.ebay.com/itm/PORSCHE-911...p2047675.l2557

Oh, and I'm moving this to the 993 forum since you have a 993.

This is what I have in my 964. Works great. I've had the Rennline pedal for over a year, but this works so well that I haven't bothered switching it.

Glad to see it is available again. Oooo, in black now.

I have heard people say (and I agree) that "Heel/Toe" is a misnomer. Most of not all drivers tend to roll the right side of their foot over onto the gas rather than actually blipping with their heel.

Nick, I received your product yesterday. Thank you for reviving it. It looks the part and I'll try to install ASAP. Best wishes for your success, -Wm.

Interesting. My brake pedal is a good six inches closer to the driver than the accelerator pedal. And the distance between then could fit the width of my foot. Clearly not ideal for heel toe. I inherited that configuration but it would seem clear that adjustment is not only possible but warranted. Pics attached.

Thank you

What a difference a day makes... and as I had hoped the shape of the accelerator is amenable to heel toe by rolling the foot, or pressing the heel near the bottom.

Thanks for the great advice.

Beauty is in the eye of beholder. Being an old geezer, my favorite 911 pedal kit is in a Porsche 935, beautiful to me anyway.
