Hello,
I have an '87 Carrera, black, with original paint. It's in perfect shape. However there is the slightest (dime coin size) blemish on the sunroof panel where the paint is beginning to wear through seemingly.
I need to have the sunroof panel painted with Glasurit. I plan on taking the panel out of the car, removing the felt gaskets and shipping the panel off to be painted at the best (most reknowned) shop I can find.
I definitely want it painted with Glasurit. Who does the best work and where are they located? Thank you

You are close enough to Richmond and therefore to Burleigh's Body Shop, 5268 Hull Street Road (804) 231-5747 (Julian Burleigh). They did some work on my car after someone slammed their door into it in a very difficult spot. The work was outstanding. I was referred to them by the local Porsche dealer. Hope this helps.

I can also vouch for glasiurt paint and have had this done to my spoiler decklid and it is guards red and impossible to tell from the rest of the car (even by the experts at a concourse)

The best work I've personally seen is done at Karosserie in King of Prussia, PA. They do phenomenal work, including major restorations. I do wonder, for matching-the-paint purposes (color and texture), whether any of these shops will want to paint just your sunroof in the absence of the rest of the car.

There is a shop in Dripping Springs Texas called Sterling that does wonderful work. They have painted two of my cars. But I doubt any shop will want to take this job unless they can see the rest of the car, otherwise it may not match perfectly.
