Question TechArt Silver Instrument Gauge Faces

I've always liked the silver/aluminum gauge faces and have been looking for a set for a while with no luck. I just did some more research and it looks like the TechArt gauge face replacements are really good quality and look as good as factory.

Does anyone have experience with them and/or compared to factory gauges? What were your thoughts about their fit, finish, and most importantly night time illumination. Was the illumination consistent accross the numbers (as consistent as stock).

Thanks for your input,

-Skip

I have the TechArt steering wheel and I have seen their stuff upclose in the Paris Auto show. Top notch quality ,same as the factory stuff. I remember seeing their colored gauges on a 996 Turbo and they were again top notch and factory look so I suspect their silver faces to be equally good.

Some say that TechArt guages don't bubble like the Porsche Silver guages and are better quality. IIRC I read somewhere that they made the Porsche silver dials but for some reason TechArt ones are better - I don't understand the logic of that comment.

Why don't you try Cargraphic or FVD they too have similar dial face. I am using Cargraphic one (in grey) and happy with it. Price might even be cheaper too.

I want those sooo bad but first thing, they're kinda expencive since I thought the only thing you needed to swap was the actual black plates and replace'm with the silver ones.

I might have gotten this all wrong but this is as far as I could understand..

And it's NOT an easy DIY, I'd have to take it to the dealer...

Skip said he may not club race this year, so I'm trying to subliminally badger him into spending his money on the necessary equipment. He obviously thinks that, by ignoring me, I will go away.
