I do agree there is overlap between the GT4 and the 993 - I owned a GT4 and I prefer the 993. I'd agree with you - get rid of it.
I daily drive a 992 so my perspective is different, but I don't like the Macan. It's too boaty to compare to a real Porsche, but it's too small to have the "command" feeling of a proper SUV. I had one for a few days test drive (a 2020 Macan Turbo) and I did not like it.

I looked at BMW's, but I've owned a couple and they suffer from the same issues and mine have not been reliable. Mercedes are worse. Can't find a Lexus I really like, I've really liked the Audi and its not impossible I'd get another.

If they really do depreciate fast, buy CPO and you're set.
BTW, I have the same set of cars--GT4, S4, and 993--but I don't ever want to sell the GT4.

991.1 GTS, 993 Cab, 718 Boxster and Macan GTS in our household. I daily drove (to be fair, I don’t have a regular commute...more trips to the airport) a GT4 for around 10k miles and end up getting the Macan GTS for the same duties. I found that the GT4 made everything else seem like a grand touring car (in the true sense), including the 991 GTS. And I found that I was driving it increasingly fast on the street and it seemed that was going to lead to bad things. So out it went and now my 991 feels fast and agile again.
But back to the question, I highly recommend the Macan GTS. Ours is very highly optioned and a really great “do everything” car. They weren’t even on my radar until I drove the base model as a service loaner and was amazed at how well it handled and how great it felt. It’s usually just my wife, me and our full-size dog on road trips and there’s plenty of room for the three of us and luggage / supplies in the rear seat area. My wife has basically taken over the Macan and I’m driving “her” Boxster to the airport (if I’m ever going to be traveling for business again).
BTW, OP, to your point about preferring the 993 by a wide margin, if I ever need to start selling things the 993 would be the last to go.

Can do worse than standardizing on the 911. Congratulations. Pictures?Originally Posted by pegdrag
