Came across these current eBay offerings. If they're that easy to remove & can be dumped on eBay for $300+, we all better watch our mirrors (pun intended). Wonder if these belonged to any of you guys:

I am sorry to hear about your loss. I would have thaought the doors needed to be open to get access to the mounting hardware, I guess not. The positive aspect is they didnt damage anything else. It would hurt much more if they dented the doors.

Thanks goodness the factory wings retract, or they might be getting stolen. Thats all I need to see is a Civic driving around with 993 mirrors and a retractable tail!

I dont know if anything else boils my blood more than people that steal stuff from others.

I hope it all turns out ok.

Check eBay, I always see aero mirrors for sale.

I've just had a thought, when the possibility of the stolen mirrors appearing on ebay was highlighted. There is a system in the UK called micro dot (that may be the generic term).

Basically it consists of a liquid adhesive in which identifying tags, personal to the owner, are suspended. Drops of the liquid can be put over all parts of the car, mirrors included. If the car (or parts) is stolen (and later found), the ID within the dried liquid can be read by the relevant authorities, hopefully enabling reuniting with the owner. It should be a theft deterrent also. There is a UK site here.
