Beautiful 993 with all the goodies. Hope inspection goes well. Sounds like Geolab will be your technical advisor.
Let us know how it goes.

Exactly! Your right! All US 993s came with G5020 gearboxes.

Would not buy this car wasn't it for the X51! Sunroof, rear wiper and a hole drilled thru the roof for the antenna all ads up!

How much are they asking? X51 sure adds to the value of a 993!

Compared to the other 6 I have seen there is actually a lot to like on this one. It is in great shape, the interior is pretty close to perfect. I have seen a lot of interiors that were in really poor shape and a lot of paint that needed a lot of work as well.

I am guessing that the Antenna on the roof was factory installed with the radio (not sure), it is a factory installed blaupunkt radio.

No no! The 993 radio antenna i moulded into the windshield! But it could be a factory installed mobile phone antenna!

Hi LionelB,

Have you already pulled the trigger??
I have found one 993 pre Varioram with X51 and without the rear wiper for you here : http://classicautosport.fr/accueil/71-993-c2-38-x51-usine-285cv.html.

Well, it still have a sunroof and a hole in the roof (the latter is kinda of a deal breaker for me...)

Black on black, body looks in top condition and it has the sports seats.
The car looks clean from the pictures.

It has more mileage than your car (170kkm) but the condition is pretty good and allegedly no oil seeping.
The car was at 79keuros a long time ago, dropped to 69keuros a couple of months ago and now "just" 65keuros - I think you maybe to offer low 60s and get the deal.

Happy hunting!

Thanks, I have seen this one. But no black for me.

The inspection went very well yesterday. I made an offer on the grey one. We will see.

And BTW the hole in the roof is indeed the radio antenna not a phone antenna.

One of the previous owners may have replaced the antenna. That is the location where the factory phone antenna is located. At least in Germany the phone antenna was standard equipment and came in two two different versions, i.e. the more common short version and a long version.

Nice looking car!

I thought the radio antenna was inside the dashboard below the front windshield?

Do you mean that for cars for German market, the antenna had to be mounted on the roof (whether short or long)?

@ LionelB : did you conclude the deal?
