Post My first DIY: Factory Pedals Adjusted Height !!!

After asking number of times to gather the all informations needed for this DIY I finally could make it today!
Here is the image of the pedals AFTER the adjustments were finished:

Here is the picture of the tools I've used (by the way..background picture is my 4 years old daughter's painting...=) :

Here is the picture of the "main" components:

Here I will try to describe the steps I followed this morning:

1. Unclip the #1 "big gold "lock clip". No tools needed to unclip.

2. Pull #3 Brake Rod away from #4 Pedal Cluster to disconnect them.

3. Now go to #5 Brake Light Switch. Disconnect the black wire at the bottom of the switch. Unbolt (tool #2) # 8 Large Black Lock Nut on the top part of # 5 Brake Light Switch to loosen it. Screw into (bolt into) the whole # 5 Light Switch into the brake pedal metal structure (here refered as #4 Pedal Cluster). After you get to the point when you can't turn the switch anymore (you bolted it in completely) tight #8 Large Black Lock Nut (the way it used to be)

4. Now go back to # 3 Brake Rod. Loosen the # 2 Brake Rod Lock Nut (unbolt it with tool #2). After you loosened it you will able to bolt out #3 Brake Rod...which will actually let you change the hight of the Brake Pedal (something for what you started whole deal!). Here you will have to play with the height of the brake pedal. You have to make sure that the new brake pedal height still lets the brake pedal to keep the #5 Brake Light Switch pressed (so there are no brake lights activated at the back of your car) The brake rod (#3) can be unbolted a lot...so much that the brake pedal will not able to keep the #5 switch light pressed). It is why you adjusted the switch light first!
When you found the brake pedal height...just bolt in the #2 Lock Nut back (tight it back..the way it used to be) and put the #1 Gold Lock clip back. Make sure (double/triple times) it is clipped securely...

5. New brake pedal height will likely not completely satisfy you..so it is why you may want to adjust the gas throttle as well.
The throttle pedal adjustment is really easy.
Loosen # 6 Gas Lock Nut (tool #1).
Using tool # 3 twist # 7 Gas Rod (turn it) counter clock wise to rise the pedal. Surpisely it can be raised a lot!. When you happy tight the #6 Gas Lock Nut back.

That's it. Go have some fun now! But abbey the speed limits signs!..i am telling you... <img border="0" alt="[nono]" title="" src="graemlins/nono.gif" />
